renrenren3: (Pornathon * Team Lust)
Strange things are happening today. And I'm not talking about my submission for the pornathon this week, though, well, that's strange too. My muse derailed me into writing something totally different from what I had planned, which meant it came out all rambly and incoherent, and also 800 words so I had to cut 80 and I hate having to do cuts so I just kinda deleted paragraphs at random. Also when I realized I was at 700 words I hastily hurried to conclude but I'd barely written any porn, so. Basically, I wrote pornless porn. IDK IDK.

Also I found myself in my wips too derpworthy to live folder and found a complete fic. For Ace Attorney. I'm not even in the fandom any more. I think I wrote it for the kink meme over a year ago and then didn't post it because it went in a different way from the prompt. Or because I was ashamed of the porn. WHICH IDK SELF IT'S A KINK MEME. Whatever, I no longer have shame and I need the wordcount for [livejournal.com profile] fiumidiparole so I'm doing some quick editing and posting.

But the point of this post is another. I might or might not have accidentally signed up for an X-Men Big Bang. (Hint: I did.)
Nobody commented on my ~totally awesome idea for an AU but I'm writing it anyway, haha. Ha. OH GOD WHAT AM I DOING. YOU SHOULD ALL JOIN AND SUPPORT ME BECAUSE I FEEL MY SANITY SLOWLY SLIPPING AWAY ALREADY AND I DON'T WANT TO BE ALONE IN THIS.
[livejournal.com profile] xmenbigbang. There should probably be a pretty banner but I can't find it and I'm sleepy and lol whatever, I can pimp properly later.

What else did I forget about? There's the Tourney of the Hand over at [livejournal.com profile] westerosorting and I still haven't recovered from Hogsmeade, I'm all excited about Pottermore even though we know next to nothing about it yet, and I fell in love with One Cell In The Sea. It's probably the only album I've ever listened to in order, without skipping tracks, multiple times. Hearts in my eyes. ♥

Back to editing shameful porn now.

I ACED MY EXAM!

Also, Glee was awesome.

I'm going to make some kind of spam post later on to celebrate. So happy, guys, I don't even.

Hi new friends from the Kurt/Blaine friending meme! Or possibly friend, there were lots of comments but few actual friend requests. Damn social awkwardness extending to the internet too. Anyway.

I finished S1 of the Vampire Diaries tonight and I have a few (non-spoilery) things to say.
First, how can Damon be so awesome?
Second, I don't know why but I read some spoilers that turned out to be actually wrong. Derp derp. Well, it helped with the suspense I guess.
Third, I think I have a crush on Damon. My sister might too. At the very least she agrees he's awesome. And my brother agrees (on the awesome, not on the crush part, or at least so I think; I'm still doing the bi-until-otherwise-proved thing). In short, when we agree on something, it means it's really really awesome.
Fourth, I felt sad for Damon in this ep, whenever he tries to to something nice life screws him no Kurt damn you it's not fair if your songs come up in my playlist and make me emo and holy cliffhanger Batman, I'm glad I can start on S2 straight away.
Fifth, Stefan's not as boring as I was afraid at first but he's still nobody compared to Damon.
Sixth, I ran out of things to say that aren't related to Damon.
Seventh, I ship Damon/mostly anyone. Seriously. Alaric, Elena, Sheriff Forbes, Stefan, anyone who can get him to drop his shirt.

Progress on my epic to-do list is going slow but steady. My thesis, which is not on there but is nevertheless a constant boring presence in my life, is kinda sorta moving forward too. And I got the 2 Layton ficlets out of the way.
I was going to write some Inception, only my first attempt sucked so much I don't think it'll ever get published. And I usually post all kinds of crap as long as it's complete, but this really sucks. You know when you have an idea and think "oooh, this is gonna be awesome!" and then it turns out to be a bitch to write and you hate the end result? Yeah, that.
So I moved to my [livejournal.com profile] merry_merthur prompt (did I mention that I hate portmanteau names already?) since I finally figured out what to write, got an outline and everything.

I was going to start writing it this afternoon but then I got this idea for a steampunk original story and I was all "oooh, this is gonna be awesome!" again... yeah, I never learn from my mistakes. But this time I had all the scenes playing out in my mind one by one until I went from "it would be cool to have a duel on top of a zeppelin" to something with a beginning and a middle part and characters, and then I thought of an ending scene which is the hardest part for me, and then I thought up the backstories of the minor characters and then I just had to at least outline it. The outline alone was 750 words, that's more than my usual ficlets. This thing is getting written. And I'm kinda... happy about it, I haven't written anything original in years because I kept going back to my one original plot and that's an epic saga with a dozen characters and plots that I'll never be able to write in one lifetime. But now I have my plot, which is totally an excuse for the two leads to get together with steampunk!London in the background, and it's still better than nothing and I'm gonna stop rambling and go write this.

Spoilerpalooza. )

In other news, I joined [livejournal.com profile] maridichallenge (nah, totally not stalking anyone!) and I'm taking part in their annual tombola, which is the Italian version of bingo. Or is bingo the English/American version of... well, whatever.
The chance of customizing my card with trendy colours and a 1-in-6 chance of landing the "duck-shaped vibrator" prompt lured me in. So now I have yet another list of things to write, but they're all pretty awesome. Apart from the mpreg prompt that had me go "FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" and complain for an inordinate amount of time, but then it was the first one I wrote because I'm insane like that.

Worse than gay porn (SPN, Dean and Sam, ~2,000 words, PG-13)
I wrote mpreg without actual mpreg. But it still warrants a mpreg warning for discussing mpreg. I still find mpreg awfully icky but now I can't stop saying mpreg.

Click my awesome card for embiggening!

Also, I finally closed voting at [livejournal.com profile] camelot_fics so I can de-anon for my own entry:
Fancy clothes (Merlin, Arthur and Merlin, ~600 words, PG)
Now... onwards to that Layton ficlet that's been plaguing me!

My plans to write write write keep getting thwarted. Yesterday I missed my alarm, got up at 11am when my neighbours had a row that was even louder than usual, turned on my computer and ended up researching gay marriage law in the US. Then my muse deserted me and I ended up watching a couple of Castle episodes.

Then I had to leave for this Christmas dinner, which was... nice, I suppose, but not as memorable as the others (for better or worse). I was stuck at the far end of my group of friends, the two girls in front of me spent the evening locked in conversation with each other and I didn't know the girl next to me. Then I found out she was an Erasmus student from Germany and she clearly didn't know many people, so I thought it'd be nice to talk with her a bit. Except... I suck at making casual conversation with strangers. I spent most of the dinner staring at the ceiling and thinking of a good conversation opener. In the end I did manage to strike a conversation with her and we talked quite a lot, and after dinner was over we got up so I could talk to some people I hadn't seen in ages. But ugh, the awkwardness at the beginning.

Also, about awkwardness. While we were walking back (I slept at Irene's as usual) I accidentally hummed "Teenage Dream" and didn't know how to justify a sudden Katy Perry obsession. Then this morning I found out she watches Glee too. Which... unexpected, but cool.
On the train ride back I managed to write part of my [livejournal.com profile] thegameison_sh entry and was about to finish it after I caught up with my flist... but then...

THE CLIP OF BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE FROM 2X10 APPEARED AND I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO STOP SQUEEING EVER SINCE. SERIOUSLY, I CAN'T EVEN STOP SMILING. I'VE WATCHED IT LIKE 4 TIMES ALREADY AND IT MAKES ME SO RIDICULOUSLY HAPPY, JUST... HEE. BOYS. FLAIL. CUTENESS. PANDAS. POINSETTIAS. SENSE. AM I MAKING ANY. WHO CARES. LOOPING IT ONCE MORE.
renrenren3: (SPN * not drunk enough)
Yeah, the return of the inane journal entries in which I talk about the shows I'm watching. Which is not the shows that are airing right now since I'm behind with a lot of shows, but bear with me. Or skip this entry entirely.

Speaking of too many shows... )

♠ For the first time since I don't know how long, I laughed out loud at Supernatural. Even though Castiel wasn't in this episode. Even though I didn't think much of the plot. Is it just me or the dialogue was way more fun that usual? Or maybe it's because the big damn plot for S6 had been shelved for once. Though it seems like it'll be back with a vengeance next Friday, but you can't have everything. I kind of... have mixed feelings towards SPN. It was my happy creepy summer show, I burned through 5 seasons in a couple of months and I'm left with a show in its final season. Sad. I should just give up and force my sister to watch the first two seasons again with me.

♠ Speaking of creepy, supernatural jerks: The Vampire Diaries is awesome. And by The Vampire Diaries I mean Damon. But also everyone else. Who are also awesome. Damn, Stefan and Elena did take some levels in badass. I'm now hooked on the show and trying not to get spoiled about any more plot points. If they keep it up through S1's finale, I might have a new OT3.

♠ I still haven't watched episode 3x11 of Merlin. It's just... Morgana makes me a sad panda. And the Arthur/Merlin abuse. WTF, show writers. Hoping that watching the finale together will make up for a sub-par season, especially since I've heard good things about 3x12.

♠ OMGWTFBBQGLEE T-14 HOURS! Yeah, I know it airs in less than 3 hours but it'll be in the dead of the night here and I have to wait until my sister gets home from school to actually watch it. FFFF. MUST RESIST SPOILERS! MUST NOT DIE OF ANTICIPATION!
renrenren3: (Default)
First things first, bask in the awesomeness that's the newest Thrones trailer. One minute long and a bunch of new footage, though of course the most interesting bits are the ones that flash past in a split second. And there should be a 15-minutes "behind the scenes" special next week that I'm really looking forward to.

It's actually happening. Spring 2011. SPRING 2011.

My new to-do list. )

Of course there's also the song meme that never ends. Since last time I posted about it I wrote a couple more ficlets:
Jean Tannen (Gentleman Bastard) - Give Us A Little Love for [livejournal.com profile] amaranthine3
Castiel (SPN) - I won't say I'm in love for [livejournal.com profile] batgurl88

And the more attentive of you might have noticed that I took the Merlin/Inception crossover off the list. That's because [livejournal.com profile] frantic_allonsy wrote it already. So... yeah. Not the very same plot I'd have written, but it's not as if I'd have ever gotten around to writing it. And they did. And it was epic.
So yeah. Go read it.

Also if you could stop by [livejournal.com profile] camelot_fics and vote for our first challenge, there's a lot of cute entries and they're all short so it shouldn't take you much. I could use some more votes.
renrenren3: (Default)
It's over. Guys, remember my list of fics/fanmixes/etc that I was planning? I've just been assaulted by the thrid Kurt/Blaine plotbunny in as many days. Everything else is so not happening. I'm getting a couple of exchange fics out of the way, and then Kurt/Blaine it is. It's not as if I can do anything else before getting that out of my system.

By the way, anyone up for betaing one of my ficlets? They're ~1,000 words each. Fandoms are Professor Layton, Phoenix Wright, Sherlock and Castle. Aaaand there's more crossovers than it's healthy for me to write. Thus, I have a problem finding betas.

By the by the way, Etrian Odyssey is fun.

CLICK CLICK CLICK! )

Also I've started watching The Vampire Diaries in the hope it'll distract me from the sad, sad lack of Glee until next week.
So far it's... meh. Apart from Damon, who saved two episodes just by showing up and trolling everyone else. And Edward Stefan needs to stop frowning at the world and try some other expression. He might want to look dark and broody, but I think he's just constipated. Also I can't watch him make that face any more without laughing, and since he does that face all the time... yeah, I laugh in all of his scenes.
But even tropes says that it gets better after episode 4 or 5, so I'll go watch the next episode now.

THERE WAS ALSO SOMETHING ELSE I NEEDED TO SAY BUT I'VE BEEN HOPELESSLY DISTRACTED. FFFFFFF BOYS.
renrenren3: (Default)
Fucking Real Life

Okay, I'm stressed over this fucking exam. So. Fucking. Much.
There just isn't enough time. And I've tried but I can't concentrate, and I know why. I'm just sick and tired of studying and I don't care about physics and I just want out. London needs to happen. Or something. I need to go somewhere, have a change of pace some time soon, or I'll lose my mind.

---

The fucking huge fandom

The only thing keeping me sane lately has been tea and Glee. Seriously. (It kind of rhymes but that wasn't the point.) There are no words to describe just how much I love that show and its cliché-riddled cast. I can just turn off my brain and hum along when I know the songs. And I kind of watched 5 episodes today with my sister because I knew stuff would happen on 1x12, and then 1x13 was Sectionals and we just needed to finish, and we were supposed to watch two episodes on Merlin tonight but after the failboat that was 3x09 (though I liked the punch-to-the-arm scene) I didn't really want to watch 3x10 so switching back to Glee seemed like a good alternative and then 1x15 was the Madonna episode... So yeah.

We're officially marathoning it. Late to the party and everything, but I don't really care. I just think I'll stay clear of the fandom because I don't really care for unnecessary drama and I miiight just have some unpopular opinions about characters/ships. (I also want to adopt Brittany, but that's beside the point.)
And I have a new favourite song. Lately I change favourite songs a bit too often. I have the attention span of a deranged rabbit. Unless it's time to watch another episode of Glee. Honestly I think this show might just have brainwashed me into some kind of mindless minion but I don't really care.

---

The small fandom that makes me happy

I've signed up for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide and I've got a feeling nobody else is offering or requesting Locke Lamora. Which makes me sad, because, seriously. The author is cool too, personal problems aside, he's got a livejournal and pulled his main character's name from a Final Fantasy game and said he was okay with fanfiction as long as he didn't have to read any of it. And he's got the full prologue from his first book online here, I don't remember if it's the part about little Locke or the start of their highly entertaining con, but either way it's a good read.

There are conmen and witty remarks and badassness and female pirate captains. There's also much use of the word "fuck" and similar, but if you read my entries I suppose it doesn't bother you too much. Oh, and he tends to create characters and make you love them and then kill them off brutally. But apart from this, the books are cool. So, uhm. Read them? Please?
renrenren3: (Default)
Dear Yulegoat,

Yes, I'm doing Yuletide this year! )

I'll probably be editing this until signups close (and I've edited it twice already), but I think that's all. Once again: THANK YOU! ♥

Ren
renrenren3: (DGM * Allen & Tyki)
Seriously, real life can go fuck itself at the moment.

I'm finally done with [livejournal.com profile] hiza_chan's ficlet from the song meme! Character #13 was Locke Lamora and I'll be very surprised if there's anyone else on my flist who's into the books, but I'm happy I got to write him. :D Plus you get a second character (I WONDER WHO THAT WILL BE!) so you don't get to complain. *insert evil cackle here*
I found the song strangely appropriate for Locke, plus the fandom is sadly non-existent so I had to do something longer than a comment-fic. Set before The Lies of Locke Lamora which is the first book in the series, very minor spoilers for the first chapters. Everyone should read the books because they are awesome.
Posted separately because it got longish and I decided it deserved full fic status so it goes into my archive.

Locke Lamora (from the Gentleman Bastard Sequence)
Stripped by Shiny Toy Guns for hiza_chan
renrenren3: (Merlin * woo)
First things first, this is so much relevant to my interests, it's ridiculous. My sister now hates me because I keep singing along to Lady Gaga, but it's okay. Even she had to admit that it was an awesome video.

Speaking of awesome, you know what's awesome? Castle. And by Castle I mean Beckett, because seriously. I might have a sliiight crush on Beckett. Okay, huge crush. And new OTP. I love this series, I'm so glad I decided I needed a police procedural in my life. I'm watching a lot of new shows lately since I still can't find my muse.

And we're almost caught up with both Doctor Who and Torchwood, and it depresses me to no end. I think I'll write an epic Torchwood AU starting from 2x13, because my canon is better than their canon. And has a pterodactyl. And I'm delusional. And I think whenever I get around to watching Children of Earth it's going to kill me.

Anyway, it's Saturday so here's another week's worth of recs from [livejournal.com profile] merlin_muses.

Serendipitous * Arthur/Merlin * PG-13 * 13,562 words
Loosely based on the movie Serendipity. If you've watched it, great! If you haven't, this fic is still adorable!
Arthur and Merlin meet for the first time just before Christmas in NYC. It's love at first sight (or almost), but Fate conspires to keep them apart. Will they be able to meet again before Arthur marries someone else? (Hint: the movie's a comedy so obviously there's a happy end.)
Leon is the best supporting character ever. Gwen is lovely and makes tea. And, in the end, it's all Morgana's fault.

Party of Four * Merlin/Morgana, Arthur/Gwen, slight Gwen/Morgana * NC-17 * 2,252 words
Proof can I can recommend things other than Arthur/Merlin. If there were more fics like this one, I think I'd be a much bigger Merlin/Morgana shipper. I didn't even mind the Arthur/Gwen bits, because it fit with the story. This is mostly PWP but their characters are just perfect.
Modern AU, starts with a drinking game. There's smut, some femslash, exhibitionism, and Arthur dares Morgana to masturbate in front of the others,. If I haven't squicked you away yet, this fic deserves a read.

All Things Are Ours * Arthur/Merlin * PG-13 * 24,436 words
Modern AU set in Carmarthen, which according to the legends was Merlin's birthplace. Arthur is Merlin's hot new boss, Merlin sometimes insults him in Welsh but Arthur doesn't understand, and they gaze longingly at each other for the best part of the fic before finally getting together.
It's probably better than my summary makes it sound and there are a lot of other secondary characters around, though they're sadly underdeveloped. There are some points where this fic is very much tell, don't show.
renrenren3: (SPN * Castiel)
I wish I had a DW icon. Castiel is still the most relevant thing that I have. And I refuse to use the drunk!Dean icon because whatever anyone says this is srs bsns.

I don't exactly know why, but after dinner I was attempting an experiment to measure just how big the human field of vision is. Or rather, my own field of vision. I might not be an ideal test subject, my vision is less than perfect and I wasn't working under optimal circumstances.

Anyway, my sister (who always gets roped into this kind of things because she's too nice to say no and my brother always says no) suggested a practical (kind of) use for this: we can now determine the minimum number of humans (or humanoids) required to fend off an attack of the Weeping Angels. Of course, you could just get with your back into a corner and wait to be rescued, but that's not effective at all. Four people can cover all of the surroundings and move around, getting themselves to a place of safety. This excludes the possibility of flying Angels ninjaing you from above, so actually you'd need to be in a team made by eight people to be certain of survival. Provided that none of them blinks.

So, eight people, my sister reckons the Doctor would never manage that unless he went on a massive recruitment spree. Then I suggested he teams up with Torchwood, it's just five people but they have a Pterodactyl! (We're very big on Terry, me and my sister. We have an ongoing graph of character popularity and she's always in the #1 spot. It's a thing of beauty, that graph.) So with the Doctor, one companion, five people from Torchwood and a Pterodactyl, they can take on the Angels no problem.

Except that my sister pointed out that Pterodactyls maybe can't see right in front of them, so here goes my foolproof plan. We needed an alternative. What wouldn't work is setting up a CCTV system, because if you watch the angels through a screen you're not actually watching the Angels, you're watching a series of frozen images, and in the interval between the frames the Angel would so get you and send you to some awful place before the invention of the Internet.

Then an alternative plan was suggested. It involves setting up mirrors in strategical positions. The only unknown factor here is whether watching angels reflected in a mirror would still work, but I think the answer to that is positive. I even wrote some equations to prove my point, confirming that the Angels do indeed move at a speed that's strictly less than the speed of light, but I won't add them here because I'm about to watch the episode with Georgia Moffett, and also I'm not sure I got the units of measure right. That's why I hate physics.

Well, whatever, now we're fully equipped to face an Angel attack. This post was brought to you by spare time, that episode of The Big Bang Theory where Sheldon tells Leonard "You know what's the problem with Time Travel?" and the fact that my sister refused to continue our conversation. But I'll need to remember the details of this for when I update TvTropes debunking the theory that the viewer counts in deciding whether the Angels are being watched or not.
renrenren3: (DRRR!! * gif)
It's cold and damp and I've got a hell of a cold and probably a slight fever too, and I'm marathoning the first series of The Big Bang Theory and I'm laughing so much my throat hurts. A lot. But it was hurting already because of the cold so it's okay.
At least now I get why the guys in my year are so obsessed with it. Well, guys and girls. And one girl anyway. A subset of the guys in my year. Which includes at least one guy and at least one girl. Scary part is, we actually talk like that. Er.

Before getting sucked into this I also watched Merlin 3x06 and it was... okay, I suppose. Not memorable. I liked Elaine, though I don't get why she's the daughter of a lord and gets called princess while Vivian was the daughter of a king and was called lady. It makes no sense at all. Oh, and Vivian was prettier by far, but that's obvious.

I also feel compelled to add that I'm a mathematician, not a physicist. Or at least I'd be if I got my degree, which is not going to happen until I pass the damn physics exam, which might explain part of my resentment towards physicists. Though obviously mathematicians are superior to physicists. Everyone says so. Apart from the physicists, but they're just delusional. And the engineers probably disagree but their opinion doesn't amount to anything. And there's probably a lot of people who don't give a damn. But if you ask me, mathematicians are better.
renrenren3: (SPN * not drunk enough)
Since nobody replied to the meme (sadface) I amused myself by compiling this non-exhaustive list or tropes that apply to me. In 3rd person.

Now for Day 27 & Day 28 of the meme... )

Incidentally, it looks like the next show in my watch list will be The Big Bang Theory, on account of lots of people in my class at uni liking it. Geek show, joy! (Nevermind that I'm one myself.)
And I've watched almost all of this season's new anime, apart from maybe Togainu no Chi, but only because my brother is still debating whether to watch it or not. I bet he won't, or if he does he'll drop it at once. Nothing special so far.
renrenren3: (Merlin * gif)
So yesterday I stayed up until past 4am. The Den of Iniquity does this to me. Also gives me the tendency to post in capslock and talk about robot heads. Seriously, Stonehenge Apocalypse wins some special prize as most ludicrous catastrophic film ever. (Title previously held by some film in which the Earth was about to be destroyed by microwaves.) At least now I have a quote in the header instead of filler text.

I also watched the Dark Knight finally. But meh. The Joker was creepy, which was good, but he was also creepy, so he scared the crap out of me. So during the best scenes I was too chicken to watch the screen.
Still want to re-watch Inception. My parents saw it last night too, but mum didn't really understood about limbo. She missed just why the ending was a mind-screw. She said she was happy it ended so well! (To which, me and my siblings explained all the different interpretations and she said derp derp.)

I'M FINALLY DONE!
Fun trivia: I have decided that Bad Romance is the unofficial soundtrack to the fic.
I can't talk about the story now, there's all this ~*~secrecy~*~ thing, but it'll be posted sometime after the 15th at [livejournal.com profile] merlin_muses. Hint: mine is the long stupid one.
Just need to get it back from beta #2 (because ffs if I have to write an ehpeek love story I'm doing things properly) and then I can submit it and kick back.

...or not since I'm already busy with my entry for [livejournal.com profile] thegameison_sh. It's quite the mood whiplash, going from my usual cracky fluff to a dark fic, but I didn't pick the bloody theme. Meh.
And I have a crapload of books that I need to read, like, last summer.
Oh. And was there a meme that was left unfinished at some point?

Also, photos of last weekend made their way on Facebook. I have red eyes. In. Every. Single. One.

ETA; All sent. The good part is, now I'm so used to churning out 2,000 words like nothing, I sat down and wrote the Sherlock fic and didn't even have to think much about it. I still think it's crap, but at least it's done and I can move on to other things, and hopefully next month we'll get a better theme.
renrenren3: (Default)
I'm officially going to ignore the 30 days meme until I'm done with my Merlin/Arthur fic for [livejournal.com profile] merlin_muses. I passed 5,000 words yesterday, not counting whatever I have on notebooks and haven't typed yet) and this monster isn't anything close to done. At least I got an extension until the 8th, I hope it'll be enough. So much for "writing a ficlet or two in the summer". At least I have a beta and most of what I've written has already been checked so I won't have to do last-minute mad dashes or anything. Or so I hope.

By the way, I don't remember who asked me about my Sherlock fic for [livejournal.com profile] thegameison_sh: voting is done and I've posted it in my comm. I'm excited for this month's theme though of course there will be no writing anything but the monster for the next week.
I'm also in half a mind to start something like this for Merlin -- monthly ficlet writing challenge. [livejournal.com profile] audiopineapple brought it up yesterday at 1am and by 2am I was set on doing it. It sounds like something I might regret, but... Merlin! fanfic! squee! Thus since nobody else is doing it I might as well.

Though I forgot I was invited to a friend's friend's grad party Saturday night, which means sleeping out and possibly getting drunk. This is so not conductive to fanfic. Nor were the couple of visits to the doctor in the last few days. I swear, everything is conspiring against me. But I'm quite happy about this fic, even if I'll have to ask for another extension to get it done. I don't want to rush it since I'm actually writing a long story that I like, and it's not for the sake of wordpadding like during NaNo.

Okay, lunchtime and then time to get a couple more scenes down.

ETA; I lied and went to change my journal layout instead. After 8 months I think the change was overdue. Yay rainbow vomit! On my to-do list: make a header, find a background, fix italic/bold/underline/strikethrough text, remove icons next to lj usernames, fill empty space in top bar, fix tag cloud.
renrenren3: (Default)
❧ I'm plagued by weird dreams. And when I'm asleep I get even weirder ideas. It just occurred to me that it would be an AWESOME idea to make a fanmix for Robot Unicorn Attack (just because) and even more AWESOME is the fact that there are already two entries tagged "robot unicorn attack" in [livejournal.com profile] fanmix. Clearly this needs to happen.

❧ Attempts to recruit my sister into the project have so far failed. I started off with "hypothetically speaking" and she said "this can't end well" and I thought of unicorns crashing into stars and got an attack of the giggles. Further attempts at explaining my idea were met with scepticism and a refusal to contribute any trashy and sparkly songs she might have lying around. Whatever. I'm so going to do this.

❧ ETA; my efforts are met with success! I have a semi-definitive list of songs and now I just need to slap together some cover art. I'm awesome. I'm also ditching study for this. Maybe I should put the unicorns on hold for a couple of hours.
