I can't even start to tell you how happy I am to be participating! First of all, I'm sorry if this letter is too long or too rambling, I have a distressing tendency to take forever to get to the point. But I want to tell you that I'm very happy to have you as my writer. You like one of my obscure fandoms! You're going to write me a story! Just this would make me more than happy!
Since I don't know you and you don't know me, I figured I'd add some more details to my prompts. This is absolutely not mandatory, okay? I might list a ton of things and you absolutely don't have to fit every single thing I mention in your fic. In fact, I'll probably even list some things that are mutually exclusive. It's just, some people are fine with just a pairing and a word, others prefer more detailed prompts. So, uhm, hopefully this is helpful and doesn't make you want to bang your head against the desk.
As far as general likes and dislikes go, I have pretty broad tastes. Usually my favourite genres are fluff, humour and hurt/comfort with emphasis on the comfort, but I don't mind the occasional dark fic or angsty plot. As long as it doesn't contain non-con/rape/torture I'm fine with it. Here's the link to my delicious account to get an idea of some fics I've read and liked. (Also, my fanfic journal, just in case.)
For rating and genre, that's completely up to you! I'm happy with gen, het and slash and will read anything from sweet fluffy friendship fic to porn.
Now, to the prompts themselves. My fandoms are Locke Lamora, Temeraire and Castle. All three have a group of protagonists working together, and I love the relationships between these people so I'd love if you could include this in your fic. Also, because of this, could I ask you not to write an AU? Because in most cases AUs change significantly the dynamics between the characters, and that's what I like best about the series.
Gentleman Bastard Sequence - Scott Lynch
Locke Lamora/Jean Tannen
Either friendship or a romantic relationship. Some ideas: For one of their schemes, Locke and Jean have to pretend they're married. OR, a drunken game of Truth or Dare, with Locke shamelessly cheating (inclusion of other characters here, especially the Sanzas, would make me happy). Would prefer a lighthearted fic with a happy ending, please no main character death or AUs.
I won't lie -- this is the request I'm hoping to be matched with, because it's an awesome series and it has no fandom to speak of.Actually, if you have never heard of it, I still suggest you read the first book. There are only two books out at the moment and the third is nowhere in sight, but they're good as stand-alone.
I'd particularly love something about Locke and Jean and their relationship. For the setting, I love Camorr so something set before the first book, with all the characters around, would be the absolute best. But hey, pirates and casinos are cool too!
And I love Nazca too -- I was so tempted to make my signup Locke/Nazca but I was afraid I'd never get matched with anyone. If you want to write me Locke/Nazca and ignore Jean even though he's in my signup, hey, go for it! You'll make my day. :)

Temeraire - Naomi Novik
William Laurence/John Granby
Either friendship or slash. Some ideas: Granby taking care of an ill/injured Laurence. OR, they try to keep their (already established) relationship a secret from the other men without realizing that everyone knows. I'd love if Jane or Emily Roland and the rest of Temeraire's crew were included. Would prefer a lighthearted fic with a happy ending, please no main characters death.
I should probably point out that I've only read the first three books so far. I have the next ones next to me right now, but I can never find the time to actually get to them. Spoilers are not a problem since I'm going to read them before New Year, but for obvious reasons I'm going to refer to the characters and their relationships as they were in BPW.
I really liked Granby as Laurence's First Lieutenant, so I'd like it if the fic was set before Iskierka came along. I also like how Laurence is always prim and proper while Granby tends to bluntly speak his mind, but they make one hell of a team when they're under attack. And while I'm all for historical accuracy, if you go for slash I'd rather not having the characters angst too much over the fact that homosexuality was a crime in that era -- mention it in passing if you like, that's cool, but don't make it into a huge plot point please.
The plots I've thought of aren't that great (maybe because I have just one pairing in this fandom, though go ahead if you want to add some background pairings) and given the setting I can't even go with my favourite "pretending to be married" plot so again... anything with Laurence and Granby would make me happy. Especially if it's established relationship, because at some points in the books I could have sworn that those two were so married.
Then again, what about them traveling to some remote corner of the world and meeting some tribe where there's the tradition that the captain of a dragon has to be married, ON PAIN OF DEATH!, and Roland's the only girl in his crew and Laurence can't marry a kid so Granby has to take one for the team and and and.
Okay, now I'm rambling, but if you're into half-crack-half-serious-completely-silly fic, this is for you.
Castle (TV series)
Kate Beckett/Richard Castle/Javier Esposito/Kevin Ryan
Castle/Beckett or Esposito/Ryan (or both, or no pairings if you'd rather write a friendship fic). I love all main characters in this show so just something with them at the precint being awesome like usual would be great. I'd like a case!fic, even if it's just the team going to a crime scene. OR: I've read plenty of fics where Beckett secretly writes Nikki Heat fanfic, what if everyone else (including Lanie, the Captain and Castle's family) wrote Nikki Heat fanfic too? I'd prefer a lighthearted fic with a happy ending, please no angst or main character death or AUs.
I know many authors whimper in fear when they see the words "case!fic" because it means thinking up a convoluted plot and then the fic gets too long and...
No, don't worry, I'm not asking you to do that! Of course I'd be happy to read such a fic, but you don't have to go to such lengths. Just mentioning that they're working on a case, having them walk to a crime scene, throwing around suspect names, that would be more than enough for me. Don't worry if the "case" is just some random names and mentions of a dagger, I know next to nothing about proper police procedures and I'm not bothered by inaccuracies.If I was, I wouldn't be watching the show in the first place.
If you go with mindless, plotless fluff for this (not a bad thing, I love fluff), it would probably be best if you didn't centre it around Christmas. I don't mind Christmas but I don't celebrate it myself. I like New Year's Eve and related festivities better.
Random, not fandom-specific things that make me happy:
* cameos of secondary characters;
* mentioning that the characters can (and have!) been in relationships other than the one they're currently in, without bashing their previous love interests;
* flawed characters, and other characters realizing that their friends/significant others aren't perfect, but loving them anyway;
* characters who still have a life outside of their relationship instead of having everything revolve around it;
* making out and cuddling that doesn't necessarily lead up to sex;
* the "pretending to be married" or "forced marriage" plots (what, I love my romance novel clichés);
* fics set in winter, because it's winter right now (or it will be soon anyway) and I like my fics to match the season.
Squicks: Rape/non-con, anything overly dark (torture, main character death, etc), extreme kinks like bloodplay or scat, giving the characters wings or turning them into girls, mpreg. Not that you'd probably include any of them, but better safe than sorry. I also have a strong embarrassment/humiliation squick and I dislike 1st/2nd person narration.
