Since nobody replied to the meme (sadface) I amused myself by compiling this non-exhaustive list or tropes that apply to me. In 3rd person.
Day 27 - A pairing that you loved and ended up hating?
This one's though. I'm like penguins, when I ship, I ship for life.Aren't penguins like that? I'm sure they are. I don't know, there's some couples that became so popular, they took over a certain fandom and now I'm sick of seeing them all over with no love for the other pairings. Like Sebastian/Ciel from Kuroshitsuji or Shizuo/Izaya from Durarara!!, the poor fanfics combined with the obnoxiousness of certain fans made me run away from those fandoms real quick.
Incidentally, I found an unfinished Shizuo/Izaya fanfic in my notebook, from months ago. I don't think I'm ever going to finish it now. It's not as if I hate the pairing, it's just, urgh, there's dozens of other characters, stop showing those two in my face! For something I actively hate now... Let's see, I think Sam/Ruby from SPN qualifies. That particular pairing lost all interest for me when it became clear that she'd been manipulating him all along. Since I liked her because she seemed more human than other demons, I wasn't particularly happy with the reveal. Though it was never a pairing I loved-loved, if I did I might somehow have been able to compromise. I don't know.
Day 28 - A pairing that you will never understand?
Merlin/Uther.
Try as I may, I have no idea how it would ever be remotely possible. I suppose it could be written as a dark fic or something but with no happy ending. They're just... not even remotely compatible. Merlin's a wizard. Uther hates wizards. Just how do you get past that? Without having Merlin keep his magic secret, because that's not a happy ending, that's a relationship based on a pile of lies. Plus, what do Uther and Merlin even have in common? It's one of those pairings that makes me go 'bwuh?' whenever it pops up in fanfic searches. I don't hate it. I just don't understand why someone would write it if not as a crack pairing.
Incidentally, it looks like the next show in my watch list will be The Big Bang Theory, on account of lots of people in my class at uni liking it. Geek show, joy! (Nevermind that I'm one myself.)
And I've watched almost all of this season's new anime, apart from maybe Togainu no Chi, but only because my brother is still debating whether to watch it or not. I bet he won't, or if he does he'll drop it at once. Nothing special so far.
- Adult Child - OMFG A GIANT STUFFED DUCKY PLUSHIE! I want it for my birthday! My 21st birthday...
- Cloud Cuckoo Lander
- Covert Pervert - nobody ever expects the quiet bespectacled girl to read porn; let's keep it that way
- Deadpan Snarker
- Ditzy Genius - almost mandatory for mathematicians
- Fangirl - and also Yaoi Fangirl
- I Have Boobs You Must Obey - easy to invoke at a maths camp with a 1:20 ratio of girls to boys; no I didn't literally flash them
- Imaginary Friend - many, with continually evolving backstories
- Meganekko
- Mr Imagination - see Imaginary Friend and Cloud Cuckoo Lander
- Older Than They Look - 15 or 16 instead of 22
- Shrinking Violet - to extreme levels during high school
- Talkative Loon - the time when she began a sentence with "If I was Batman" is still memorable
- The Nicknamer - due to never remembering anyone's name; also because it's funny
- Third Person Person - at least when she's among her fellow trope-addled siblings
- Tomboy
