Yes, I'm doing the 5,000 questions meme too.

1. Who are you?
Hi, my name is Ren and I'm addicted to memes.

2. What are the 3 most important things everyone should know about you?
♥ I love my friends and don't care about anyone else, or what anyone else might think of me. Because of this I might be difficult to get along with.
♥ I'm into a lot of fandoms. And I mean, really a lot of fandoms. They change often because I'm moody and fickle like that.
♥ Writing is a hobby of mine, but I'm actually a maths student.

3. When you aren't filling out 5,000 question surveys like this one what are you doing?
Watching tv shows, writing, reading, occasionally also doing coursework.

4. List your classes in school from the ones you like the most to the ones you like the least (or if you are out of school, think of the classes you did like and didn't like at the time).
Maths, English, Science, History, Philosophy, Italian, Physics, Art, Latin, Gym.
You know the school system in Italy is so fucked up, so-called "scientific" high schools have mandatory latin and philosophy and more weekly hours of that crap than science? And people like my parents, who are otherwise reasonable and educated, approve of this bullshit because it's traditional and cultural?
Five years of mandatory latin. I weep for that waste of time.
Also, yeah, I hated physics. Maybe because I never had a decent teacher in my life, not until too late anyway.

5. What is your biggest goal for this year?
Getting my Bachelor's Degree.

6. Where do you want to be in 5 years?
London. Or, well, anywhere out of the country.

7. What stage of life are you in right now?
Still firmly stuck in uni-land, wishing I could move on but at the same time dreading what happens next.

8. Are you more child-like or childish?
Both? I mean, I have Eric here right next to me and I can be pretty immature at times.

9. What is the last thing you said out loud?
I don't know... Maybe "I'm going" to my sister when we finished watching an episode of Gossip Girl and I went to get my tea.

10. What song comes closest to how you feel about your life right now?
Turn It Off, Paramore: And the worst part is, before it gets any better we're headed for a cliff and in the freefall I will realize I'm better off when I hit the bottom.

11. Have you ever taken martial arts classes?
No.

12. Does your life tend to get better or worse or does it just stay the same?
It goes up and down. Doesn't everyone's? It reached an all-time low during high school, then went up as I moved to uni, then down again in the last year as I'm struggling with the last exams.

13. Does time really heal all wounds?
For me, it does. At least so far. Though my "wounds" are really nothing to speak of.

14. How do you handle a rainy day?
I love rainy days. Especially if I don't have to get out. And even if I have to get out - hot shower and cup of tea. Insta-fix.

15. Which is worse...losing your luggage or having to sort out tangled holiday lights?
Losing my luggage, by far. I hate losing stuff because I get attached to things and I'm always antsy when I have to wait for my luggage to show up. Untangling holiday lights just takes a looong time.

16. How is your relationship with your parents?
Cold. Distant. I think there's no other word for it. It's just, I don't know. Hard to talk with them because we have so little in common. Dad doesn't even make an effort, he's always got his head in the clouds. Mum is busy with work and housekeeping and is always so tired. I don't even think they realized just how distant our family is. To be honest I'm not big on public displays of affection though so I'm fine with it.

Will you miss them when they are gone?
Of course. Especially mum, though. Sometimes dad goes away on business meetings and I don't even notice the difference apart that his place at dinner is empty. So yeah.

17. Do you tend to be aware of what is going on around you?
Not really, I'm an airhead. I keep getting distracted by my own thoughts.

18. What is the truest thing that you know?
In the end, you die. So better make the most of it while there's still time.

19. What did you want to be when you grew up?
A palaeontologist. A secret agent. A writer. A professor.

20. Have you ever been given a second chance?
Yes. I can't recall any specific examples. But I can't believe nobody would ever have given me a second chance.

21. Are you more of a giver or a taker?
I'd say a taker, going from the earlier question about children and childish behaviour. Though I try to balance it out, it's always a conscious thing - if I had it my way I'd be always like GIMME! GIMME!

22. Do you make your decisions with an open heart/mind?
I try to always keep an open mind. An open heart... not so much. I always approach things rationally so I might appear cold.

23. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?
Sometimes on the first day of my period I'd get this really intense pains in my stomach/back. I'd be completely paralysed for the whole day because even breathing fucking hurts, curling up in a ball and trying to find a position that doesn't make me feel as if I'm being kicked in the ribs. Now I know how to spot the symptoms in advance and what to take for it, but the first times it was hell.

24. What is the most emotionally painful thing that has ever happened to you?
Finding out that my first serious boyfriend was such a controlling, jealous, manipulative jerk. Breaking up with him. Having him go violent and borderline stalking.
Let's just not go there.

25. Who have you hugged today?
Nobody. I'm not a hugging person and anyway I was home today. I don't recall the last time I hugged my parents. My brother doesn't hug, ever (he's at that age). My sister shares my policy of not hugging unless it's a very dramatic occasion (like watching Children of Earth). I suppose I hugged Eric.

26. Who has done something today to show they care about you?
Well, my brother showed me how to get past a certain point in Zelda but he might have been just wanting to show off. IDK MAN, WHY ARE YOU ASKING ME THESE QUESTIONS ON A BORING DAY WHEN NOTHING HAPPENED?

27. Do you have a lot to learn?
Doesn't everyone?

28. If you could learn how to do three things just by wishing and not by working what would they be?
A. Learn all about geometry! I need it for my exam and I need it now.
B. Some martial art, possibly a cool-looking one.
C. Learn how to tie my hair into something that's not a lousy ponytail. (My hair hates me.)

29. Which do you remember the longest: what other people say, what other people do or how other people make you feel?
What they make me feel. (It's all about meee.) And also what they say, I have a decent memory for conversations.

30. What are the key ingredients to having a good relationship?
Trust, open-mindedness, patience, not being a jealous jerkass.

31. What 3 things do you want to do before you die?
A. Find twu wuv. Or at least date someone who's not a jerkass, since I haven't exactly been lucky in that regard.
B. Write a book. And I don't mean NaNo, I mean something I'm actually proud of. I don't really care about getting published, I want to do it for myself. Though of course getting published would be nice too.
C. Get a job. Do something productive. Feel like I'm a part of society and are actually contributing in some way instead of sitting in a classroom like I've done for the past 20 years.

32. What three things would you want to die to avoid doing?
...Nope, sorry, if my life was on the line I'd do mostly anything.

33. Is there a cause you believe in more than any other cause?
Free speech. Gay rights. Generally the rights of any minority who gets persecuted on account of being a minority.

34. What does each decade make you think of:
The 19..
20's: FLAPPERS! Lackadaisy.
30's: Mary Poppins
40's: WW2.
50's: ...idk.
60's: Beatles.
70's: Hippies and really weird hair.
80's: Me. I was born in this decade.
90's: Mickey Mouse. I blame it on my childhood readings. Also, really awful boy bands.
2000 (so far): Internet. War in Afghanistan. Lots of scandals.
2010's: Hello present day. The world's gonna end in 2012, so you know.

35. Which decade do you feel the most special connection to and why?
The 90s, since I've actually lived through all of it. Also, childhood.

36. What is your favorite oldie/classic rock song?
I don't really know (or care much) about classic rock.

37. What country do you live in and who is the leader of that country?
Italy. Napolitano is the current President, though he's mostly a figurehead. We've also got a guy running around and acting like he owns the place, but he's old and not in his right mind so I'm hoping he'll have a stroke in the next couple of years. I don't want to talk about him because too many people do already.

If you could say any sentence to the current leader of your country what would it be?
President, I'm grateful for all the hard work you've done, especially in the light of the current difficult situation. I'm not as confident as you are in the new generation but I hope better times are coming.

38. What's your favorite TV channel to watch in the middle of the night?
I don't watch TV. Here it's just awful, due not in small part to the fact it's mostly owned by a certain guy mentioned above.

39. What Disney villain are you the most like and why?
Madam Mim? IDK, I just like her a lot.

40. Have you ever been a girl scout/boy scout?
No.

41. If you were traveling to another continent would you rather fly or take a boat?
Boat. I don't really like flying, mostly because terrorist movies have made me paranoid. I'm not really scared of flying in itself, just that the plane might be hijacked. So yeah, boat. I love sailing.

42. Why is the sky blue during the day and black at night?
It's got to do with light refracted in the air. Go wiki it or something.

43. What does your name mean?
"Peace". I also googled my middle name and apparently it means "well born". I never knew that.

44. Would you rather explore the deeps of the ocean or outer space?
The ocean. The space seems so cold and lonely.

45. Word association. What is the first word that comes to mind when you see the word:
Air: balloons
Meat: vegetables
Different: wall
Pink: toilet
Deserve: desserts
White: elephant
Elvis: Las Vegas
Magic: top hat
Heart: surgeon
Clash: knights
Pulp: fiction

46. If you could meet any person in the world who is dead who would you want it to be?
Fermat, if only so I could ask him about the proof to his accursed final theorem.
Or maybe Agatha Christie, she sounds like a nice lady.

47. What if you could meet anyone who is alive?
Chris Colfer. Matt Smith. Georgia Moffet. Misha Collins. Anyone I ever fangirled over.

48. Is there a movie that you love so much you could watch it everyday?
Inception. With the obvious caveat that everything gets bored after the tenth time I watch it.

49. You are going to be stuck alone in an elevator for a week. What do you bring to do?
Ew. Couldn't you have said a hotel room so I'd have a toilet at least? So yeah, I'd like a potty and possibly water and food. Then supposing the smell doesn't kill me, I wouldn't need much. Just my DS (maybe I'd finish Etrian Odyssey?), pen and paper to write and I'm set.

50. Have you ever saved someone's life or had your life saved?
I don't think so.

51. Make up a definition for the following silly words...
Fruitgoogle: A fruit made by 10^100 tiny grains.
Ambytime: Any time, only ambivalent. The time you give when you're not sure of when and don't want to commit to anything.
Asscactus: Either a cactus with an ass or someone with a cactus stuck in their ass.

52. What was the last thing you made with your own hands?
Does making tea count?

53. What was your favorite toy as a child?
I had a stuffed plush turtle that I brought with me everywhere. She's still around, so battered she's almost grey.

54. How many TV’s are in your house?
One.

55. What is your favorite thing to do outside?
Walk. I'm big on walking instead of going by car/bus, if only because it makes me feel as if I'm not completely and terribly lazy.

56. How do you feel when you see a rainbow?
Neutral. They're never as spectacular as in cartoons anyway.

57. Have you ever dreamt a dream that came true?
I don't remember any. Then again I usually dream really crazy stuff.

58. Have you ever been to a psychic/tarot reader?
Nope and I don't see myself ever doing that either.

59. What is your idea of paradise?
In a non-religious sense: a nice house, financial security, friends, good health. My paradise is very much middle-class, I think. Though after watching Hawaii Five-0 there's another idea of paradise that involves palm trees.
In a religious sense: see below.

60. Do you believe in god and if so what is he/she/it like?
I don't. I just can't believe there's some higher power who allows the kind of crap going on in the world. If you're religious that's fine by me but please don't discuss your beliefs with me.

61. Do you believe in Hell?
See above. (Also I'm curious as to why hell was capitalized while heaven was not.)

62. What one thing have you done that most people haven't?
Technically having my period counts because half of the people are male, plus you factor children, so the women in the world are a minority and... it's late and I'm losing it.
Seriously, I don't know. I wrote a novelette of 50,000 words. I almost got a degree in mathematics. I almost completely cut my hair three years ago.

63. What is the kindest thing you have ever done?
I don't know really. Maybe never telling a certain person to STFU when I had every right to, just because I know they had issues and didn't realize they were making unreasonable demands.

64. Are you a patient person?
I try, but by nature I'm not.

65. What holiday should exist but doesn't?
National Hug Your Stuffed Animal Day. Or Bring Your Stuffed Animal To Work Day. They don't get enough love. ♥

66. What holiday shouldn't exist but does?
Christmas or maybe Easter. Any of the blatantly religious ones. Or Day of the Dead, I always found it creepy.

67. What's the best joke you ever heard?
I don't really find jokes funny. Maybe I only heard the bad ones. Hanging out with mathematicians might do that to you.

68. Where is the most fun place you have EVER been?
There's this amusement park just a few hours from there, I went a couple of years ago with friends. It might have been the company rather than the place though, haha.

69. Is your hair natural or dyed?
Natural, though I've always wanted to dye it (either purple/blue or some crazy colour, or just platinum blonde).

70. Do you have any deep dark secrets or are you pretty much up front?
Usually I'm pretty honest about everything. I've got a couple of things I don't talk about but nothing big.

71. What is under your bed right now?
Nothing except for dust motes, I would hope!

72. If you were in the Land of Oz would you want to live there or go home?
I wouldn't mind staying in Oz for a while, though I prefer Wonderland myself.

73. If you drive do you frequently speed?
I don't often drive and I never speed. I'm just not confident enough that I wouldn't crash.

74. What is the world's best song to dance to?
Single Ladies. Glee took over my mind.

75. What song was on the last time you danced with someone?
Okay, I should have clarified. I don't dance. EVER. I'm just too clumsy and no. Just no.

76. Do you prefer Disney or Warner Brothers?
Disney, especially the golden oldies - Pocahontas, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin...

77. What is the first animal you would run to see if you went to the zoo?
I'd study the best possible route to see EVERYTHING and start from the beginning, duh! (I always do that in zoos, museums, parks, etc.)

78. Would you consider yourself to be romantic?
Much to my embarrassment, yes. I'm a sucker for old-fashioned romances.

79. If the earth stopped rotating would we all fly off?
Nope because the Earth's mass is enough to keep us attracted to it. Though in that case the Earth might plummet into the sun, rendering the point moot.

80. What is the one thing that you love to do so much that you would make sacrifices to be able to do it?
Having internet. I just wouldn't know what to do without emails and google and all the timewasting opportunities.

81. If you (and everyone) had to lose one right or freedom, but you could pick which one everyone had to lose, what would you pick?
The right to choose their religion. Everyone's atheist. HOORAY.

82. If you had to choose would you live on the equator or at the North Pole?
At the equator, where there's at least some civilization and I don't get winters that are one big long night.

83. Would you rather give up listening to music or watching television?
Watching television. I actually haven't watched television in years, literally. I catch all my shows on the computer anyway.

84. What do you think makes someone a hero?
Being in the right place at the right time and making the right decision.

85. What cartoon would you like to be a character in?
So many cool possibilities... But I'd rather choose somewhere that doesn't put me at risk of dying a fiery death in the first two episodes so I'll steal Hiza's answer and say Pokemon because it'd be so cool to have skipped middle and high school to travel the world catching weird animals and making them fight.

86. Name one thing that turns your stomach:
Cheese.

87. What was the last thing you paid for?
Hot chocolate with friends after my exam.

88. Are you a coupon clipper?
Nope, I'm not one for shopping so unless I see a coupon for something I was already planning to buy I'm not interested.

89. Get anything good in the mail recently?
Pandora Hearts calendar. Technically it's my sister's but it I ordered it for her and it was late so I was happy too when it arrived, haha.

90. Which would you rather take as a gym class...dancing, sailing, karate, or bowling?
Bowling classes? Wut? Maybe dancing since I'd have the chance of not looking like an antisocial duck when (if) I go out.

91. In Star Trek people 'beam' back and forth between different places. What this means is they stand in a little tube and their molecules are deconstructed and sent to another tube somewhere else where they are reassembled. Only problem is when the molecules are deconstructed the person is dead. When they are put back together it is only a clone that has all the dead person's memories. So...
Didn't they have this same argument in The Big Bang Theory?

Is the person who gets beamed the same person on both ends?
Yes because it's Star Trek, not a philosophical question.

92. What insects are you afraid of?
Cockroaches. Centipeds.

93. If you could print any phrase on a T-shirt, what would it say?
"I'm not shy I'm just antisocial."

94. What's the most eccentric thing you have ever worn?
My wardrobe is, like, really really plain. Really. We're talking vast majority of turtleneck sweaters and jeans and monochrome shirts.
But sometimes I wear mismatched socks just because.

95. If you could pick one food that you could eat all you wanted but it would have no effect on how much you weigh, what food would it be?
Chocolate croissants.

96. What are your parents interested in?
My mum in gardens and movies. My dad in his job and photographing plants and insects.

97. Have you ever caught an insect and kept it as a pet?
No, that sounds gross.

Have you ever caught and tamed a wild animal?
No, but then again I live in a city.

98. What is more helpful to you, wishes or plans?
Plans. Wishes are not helpful to anyone.

99. When do you feel your life energy the strongest?
What are you even talking about.

100. You are spending the night alone in the woods and may bring only 3 items with you. What do you bring?
This question is way too vague. I'd first want to know if there are wild animals in the woods so I'd know if a weapon would be needed or if I could go to sleep without having to fear getting attacked by a grizzly overnight. Supposing it's like the woods we have here, where the biggest animals are boars and anyway they don't attack unless provoked: sleeping bag, a torch and a cellphone.
