Don't you just hate it when you read and re-read a fic, and have it betaed, and then have it betaed by someone else just to be 100% sure, and then you read it again a couple of weeks later and find there's still a couple of typos that somehow managed to elude you?
It drives me mad.
SPN 6x06
Wow, this episode. Finally the boys are working on something like a normal case again. I would have liked it better if it was some kind of monster, but the freaky cat goddess is almost as good.
At first I thought they'd use the curse as a cheap excuse to have Sam confess what's going on to Dean, but they didn't, and it was awesome. I loved how Sam could lie to the cat lady's face, and she was all freaked out by it, and in the end Sam told Dean anyway.
Kind of creeped me out when Dean punched Sam though, because dude! Understandable reaction, but Dean seemed completely out of control.
Too bad the previews spoiled a lot about next episode.
At least there's Cas. I loved the scene between Dean and Cas in this ep, it was even more slashy than usual. That's quite a feat.
Merlin 3x08
The return of Mr Fanservice, aka the guy with fabulous hair, aka Gwaine.
And for all that I'd been looking forward to this episode, it was strangely... unremarkable. No funny scenes, no heartwarming moments. I thought there was a lot of weak writing and pointless scenes. Gwaine had no real role, it was as if he'd just been thrown in for the sake of, well, fanservice. It could have been an amazing episode, but it felt flat to me.
Paradoxically, Gwen had the best scenes here. I loved her finding out about Morgana, I wish she'd tell Merlin. So maybe Merlin would have the guts to tell Arthur at last, it's ridiculous that he keeps putting Arthur in danger just because he doesn't want to expose Morgana.
It drives me mad.

Date: 2010-11-01 04:58 pm (UTC)Gah gah gah. Such a boss episode. So freakin' good!
...which is basically the opposite of how you felt ahahahahahaha.
I love it for so many reason. Merlin/Gwaine scenes were really good. Especially the one in the forest at night when we saw just how much Gwaine values Merlin's friendship. God, I'm not even slashing them (okay, maybe a bit). Just. Real good friendship. I love that Gwaine subtly antagonises Arthur. I love that Gwen finally finds out about Morgana. (I hate that Morgana was so mean to Gwen). I love that the Fisher king did not turn out to be a psycho sorcerer who wants to kill Merlin/Arthur/anyone. I love the beginning; the contrast between the seriousness of finding out the quest, and the slight (maybe even weak for some) comic relief that is Merlin (and Gwen). Haha. Yes. Just my two cents. :)

Date: 2010-11-01 05:13 pm (UTC)But yeah, the Merlin/Gwaine scenes! I forgot to mention them, figures. But it was pretty cool to establish their friendship like that, Merlin doesn't get many friends. It's always about Arthur, so it was great to see that Gwaine was going along just to help Merlin. Plus it's totally slashable, and that's always a bonus.
And I loved the Fisher King. I'd forgotten how much I liked the character from the legends, I'm glad he didn't turn out to be some lame, flat villain.
