renrenren3Dude. Dude. Duuude! This is awesome. I finally watched Merlin's S3 premiere and it was awesome! Much, much love for the boys.
So, the plot was more or less what we'd gathered from the previews. But guh, evil!Morgana is creepy! And she must stop trying to kill Merlin. Seriously, she's going down in my mental list of awesome characters pretty fast. No making Merlin cry!
Fuck, though. I was in the middle of writing a scene with Arthur and Morgana, pre-S2 finale. Now my characterization is screwed.
Speaking of is it me or has Arthur gone back to being a jerk during the time skip? Let's see, he mocked Merlin in front of his knights, upended a bucket of water over his head, threw two vases and a boot at him, ignored him when he disappeared for a day and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. I wasn't exactly expecting hugs and kisses, but it'd be nice for him to maybe actually care a bit about his best friend.
Gwen didn't even get any scenes with Merlin. Merlin/Arthur got a bunch (mostly Arthur bullying Merlin, but still), Merlin/Morgana got some nice dueling, Arthur/Morgana had hugs and misty eyes (even if it was just an act)... Gwen had Morgana bitching at her and a couple of lines with Arthur, telling him what a great man he is. Which was a bit superfluous since Merlin told him the same thing in the next scene, and he made it funnier. Looks like S3 won't change my mind about Arthur/Gwen.
Leon got more screentime than Gwen. The power of fandom has elevated him from ensemble dark horse to regular, apparently. It's good to have regulars instead of mooks that get offed by the dozen.
Gaius changed his wig again. Uther is a failboat. Was Merlin dressed all in black in that last scene?
Anyway, definitely better than SPN so far. Good to have at least one ongoing series I can look forward to. Apart from animu of course, Bakuman is starting in a few days and I can't remember the last time I was so psyched about something being animated. And just how shippy was volume 4? Seriously, I'd think the mangakas were going for not-so-subtle subtext if both boys didn't already have nice girlfriends already...Well, Shujin does, Saiko is an idiot so his situation is more complicated.
Urgh, I just had onion focaccia because my parents forgot it in the microwave, then chocolate and tea, and I have a croissant for when I'll get hungry around 1am. I really need to revise my eating habits.
Day 20 - The "can't stand the sexual tension anymore" pairing?
Roy/Riza from Fullmetal Alchemist.
Seriously, at the height of the last few episodes, with shit happening everywhere in Central and everyone about to die, half of my worries were whether those two would get together.The other half were whether they'd survive.
It's just, argh! What's with all the formalities, and calling each other "Colonel" and "Lieutenant"? It makes the UST so, so much worse! Honestly, she gets her throat slit in front of your eyes and you don't even call her name? You say "Lieutenant"? Are you for serious? And you're ready to risk everything for each other, and can more or less read each other's thoughts from just a tiny gesture, and you make a badass team. YOU'RE ONE OF THE TWO COUPLES THAT WERE BLATANTLY OBVIOUS SINCE THE BEGINNING AND YOU KNOW IT TOO, SO STOP ACTING SO PROFESSIONAL AND KISS ALREADY!
Technically we don't get any confirmation that they're together by the end, but they're sharing a hospital room. That's more than proof for me. And they finally had sex and got rid of the UST and lived happily ever after.

I remember how ZC and I discussed while we watched Season 1 of the chance that Morgana and Gwen would "switch appearances" or something--I can't remember the full details, but it was brought out by how different they look from their usual depictions.
Oh! And I MIGHT get to see Sherlock. It's apparently airing at NYAF/NYCC...however, it's at the same time as the premier for the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.
I'm in so much pain over this. *cries* T__T

Wow, I don't envy you the choice. I think out of the two I'd pick Sherlock, but Disappearance was good too. I only ever got to watch a cam rip, I wanna watch it again too. Can't you tape one of the two and watch it later?

Yeah T___T I'm tempted to do that--right now, we're thinking of debating on how the lines are. If we can't get into one (whichever is closer), we'll do the other or something... If it wasn't for the fact that I heard the Disappearance would be subbed, I'd pick Sherlock hands down x-x I wish I could double check if it'd be subbed or not... :/
But yeah, we're thinking of the camera thing too--but we'd have to find a Video Camera and hope it can hold that much XD Each one is 2 hours.
