renrenren3My mum caught me staring at the screen waiting for my thesis to spontaneously type itself. She said that now I know how difficult it is to write. Considering the 1,800 words I produced last night, I don't think so. I just found out that it's harder to write about integrals than fictional people, which, big surprise!

More tombola stuff since I have until the end of the month before my next exchange deadline.
The second fic in particular is a shiny example of what I aim for with every tombola fic: 200-300 words, short and to the point. The first one is what I get: a rambling monster where I create a detailed backstory for all characters that doesn't even get explained in the fic because it's to effing long already and I want to move on because I never planned this to be so long and would now be a good point to cut it short please tell me it is.
At least I updated my card with new shiny pictures.
I have no idea what to do for the other prompts though, even if I wrote down the fandoms. For some I don't even know about the fandom. The cherry tree in particular is screaming GO BACK TO MANGA FANDOMS YOU 3D SELLOUT and idk, I might take this chance to catch up with the latest volumes of xxxHolic. The quote about love and blood and roses is very much Vampire Diaries-ish. Any suggestions for the others?
Also, some news that might be relevant to your interests! At least those of you that are fanfic-oriented, but if you don't care about fanfic you probably stopped reading two paragraphs ago.

thegameison_sh is opening signups for Cycle 2 that will start next month.
And I can't believe I forgot to mention this earlier but I'm offering two stories (one fanfic and one original):

Meanwhile, with all of my usual shows on hiatus, I'm left with Gossip Girl and the last season of the Big Bang Theory. I also started watching Psych, but apart from loving the main character it's kind of meh.
Last night my parents signed the first papers for the house. Now the previous owner has until July to vacate the premises (or whatever the legal term is) and then they'll sign the contract proper with a notary and start with the remodeling.
Mum kept adding "if everything is fine!" while she was telling me this. Apparently the seller is (in my uncle's words) a good person but batshit crazy. I met him when we saw the house and that's the impression I got too, but last night he almost drove mum mad. Apparently the main door doesn't lock properly and when my dad pointed it out this man said he'd done it on purpose so they could open it from the outside without a key.
So they could open it from the outside without a key.
The door is now #1 on the list of things to be fixed. Mum also suggested to exorcise the house for any leftover stupidity that might be hanging around and it sounds like a great idea.
