♥ At some point this week, I seem to have found several ways to occupy my time. Beside Tumblr, I mean. A couple of days ago I went to see a friend of my mum's who works in the uni office that deals with work placement. I told her I was hoping to get an internship to keep busy this summer and possibly learn something that might be useful when I'll be looking for a job in a couple of years. We learn plenty of theory in class, but nobody ever told me how to fill a CV or how to navigate the uni's baffling website and get the list of corporations that might be looking for an intern this summer. Since I spoke with someone who knew me already, she was very helpful and I got a lot of info. I can even ask for her input on my CV once I'm finished with it, which I'm going to take advantage of. I'm afwul at selling myself. Anyway, it's almost Easter so I'll start actively looking for this internship next week. If I survive the weekend.
♥ So last Tuesday there was some kind of dinner with my (former) uni classmates. I ended up not going because it was Glee night and I was tired and anyway I can't go out more than once a week. Like, my body doesn't take it well. I'm built for pajamas and cups of hot tea, not for dressing up and partying. So instead I went out last night with a couple of friends and their friends and it was super awkward because I didn't know them very well. First, everyone was dressed up. One of the girls arrived and started complaining that everyone else was wearing a dress so she looked bad in "just" her skirt and short heels and I was standing there in jeans and t-shirt thinking how the hell are you underdressed, this was a bad idea, I wanna go home.
Also, in both places we went I managed to end up sitting at the far end of the table next to people I didn't know. The second place was particularly bad since I was between a couple and they kept talking over me. I even tried to get the girl to switch places with me, because wouldn't you be more comfortable if you could, dunno, sit next to your boyfriend? But obviously she didn't get the clue and said she didn't want to bother me. I probably looked like I was having so much fun sitting in the corner.
In the end Giulia took pity on me, I managed to slither next to the part of the table with the people I knew and she offered me another beer with the pretence of toasting to my graduation. This was actually a cunning plot since she got the most alcoholic one, trusting that I wouldn't notice. I didn't, and promptly got plastered. The evening was much more fun after that, though. I had a raging headache until dinner time today, but at least I wasn't bored out of my skull any more. I even recall at some point there was a mention of Dr Spencer Reid and I had a moment of fangirling with a girl whose name I didn't even know and we attempted to convince Irene's boyfriend that Dr. Reid is actually quite handsome. I feel the need to apologize to Mr Gubler for whatever I might have said in those minutes. Oh, and Giulia invited me to spend Easter at her place. I said yes, mostly because I was still drunk, because it means two days with the same people I still don't know very well and who make me feel awkward and out of place, but I trust that there will be alcohol.
♥ Today is my brother's birthday. He turns 18 and all. In true nerd spirit, for his birthday we went to the mall and he got a bunch of games for the DS and then we ate at McDonald's. Actually we were supposed to go yesterday but nobody told me and I'd already made plans but I'd forgot to tell everyone, so I pouted until they agreed to postpone the epic trip. In the end it was worth it since we had some time to kill between my brother getting his games and the McDinner so we went shopping. Meaning, my brother got to follow me and my sister around while we attempted shopping, looking increasingly bored.
I have this huge list of things I need, because in the past few months I couldn't have taken time off my thesis to go shopping, so I just ignored the fact that I need: a new bag, jeans that fit (damn), a spring/summer sweater, a brush so I can stop stealing my sister's, and shoes. The result of today's trip: shoes. Uuuh, it's a start. Also a pink shirt. Which is why I shouldn't be allowed to go shopping unsupervised, I get sidetracked by cute shirts. Actually this time there was my sister, and she was very much against the shirt, but I wouldn't be swayed. So maybe I shouldn't be allowed to go shopping, full stop.
♥ This week's Glee disappointed me. Not enough plots that interested me. Santana was awesome and so was Mike, but their scenes were only about 5 minutes. The best part of the night was watching the previews for next week at the end. I managed to restrain myself and only watched Somewhere Only We Know out of all leaked songs/clips, but I'm so dying to see the next episode now. My flails, let me show you them.
Klaine. 90 minutes. Klaine. Gaga. Klaine.
