Dreadful news. I have all the symptoms of, gasp!, the common cold. Runny nose, sore throat, fits of coughing, clammy hands... It's terrible. I look awful, but fear not: I have hopes that I might survive.
I'm still feeling incredibly crappy but at least I don't have a high fever like dad. He's been home all week, alternating between sleeping on the couch and calling his colleagues to complain about his health. (My favourite bit is when he complains about having a sore throat in a VERY LOUD VOICE while I'm trying to study.)

Also, I have a new mouse. I'm thankful to my mum for getting me a present I'm likely to use instead of a fugly sweater or something like that, but she picked a cute one instead of one comfortable to use. I'll probably end up going back to my old one, which works just fine. With this one, I keep misclicking like, er, like someone who misclicks a lot.

Anyway, I haven't been posting in a while but hopefully this makes up for it. Over at [livejournal.com profile] merlin_muses posting continues, and with 14 stories posted already out of 56 I thought it was time to rec some of my favourites. They're all Arthur/Merlin, but I swear I did read the others too (apart from Arthur/Gwen, obviously). It's just that Arthur/Merlin fics are more than all the others put together. And, okay, I might also be biased. Hush.

With This Ring * Arthur/Merlin * NC-17 * ~10,000 words
One of my prompts, and I'm so happy it was picked up! Uther is enchanted and forces Arthur and Merlin to marry, immediately. Arthur and Merlin have to go along with it until they find a way to reverse the spell.
This story is all sorts of adorable and sweet and funny. And the last scene between Uther and the boys is priceless. Just... read it ♥

The Apprentice's Tale * Arthur/Merlin * NC-17 * 10,500 words
Modern AU. Merlin and Arthur are both members of the Society for Creative Anachronisms. (If you don't know what that is, don't worry, I didn't either. The author provided helpful links but in short, it's people dressing up in medieval dresses and doing medieval-style stuff like banquets and tourneys.)
Anyway, Merlin and Arthur meet at a week-long camping event, they start off by hating each other and they end up... not hating each other. Obviously. There's also cameos from many other characters: Gwen, Lancelot, Morgana, Gaius...

A Time for Reflection * Arthur/Merlin * PG * 4,573 words
Around harvest time, the tradition of countryman favours cause Merlin to miss home. He makes one himself not intending to give it away, and Merlin has to face his feelings when he finds Arthur with the favour. The Prince wasn’t supposed to find it nor does he know the meaning behind it.
A sweet story. Gets a bit repetitive at the end, but Merlin's adorableness makes up for it.

The Prince and his Catservant * Arthur/Merlin * NC-17 * 8,212 words
Merlin gets turned into a cat and Arthur has to take care of him until the spell wears off. The best part is Arthur imagining what cat-Merlin is thinking. Lovely story, though the ending is a bit abrupt.
