Why just why
Jun. 23rd, 2010 01:06 amI really, really, really should've gone to sleep already. I planned to watch Wolverine and then go to sleep but had some problems with the subtitles. I just don't understand American. At all. So I fixed the subtitles first, and it took me forever. But at least my brother had decided he was interested too so I didn't have to watch yet another movie on my own. Though it was embarrassing because I kept flinching back from the screen when Deadpool appeared, he's just... Ewww. No.
Overall it was just what I expected. Wolverine punches things. Other things blow up. People use mutant powers with lots of special effects. And then there's Gambit, who appears far less than fandom had led me to believe. Ah well, should have expected it. I did like his scenes. Though, his accent? Not quite what I'd expect.
What else? Oh, I realized what was bothering me about the Holmes movie. At the beginning, Holmes arrests Blackwood as he's about to kill a sixth young woman; later on Holmes reveals that the locations of the other five murders form the corners of a pentagram. So what did he need a sixth victim for?
And then Blackwood in prison tells Holmes that he'll kill three more people. Then he goes on to kill three people... and tries to kill the whole Parliament as well. Did he just forget to mention about the other hundred victims he planned to make?
Must google later. Didn't find anything, tried tropes. Tropes says:
# on a side note: We learn that Blackwood already killed 5 girls, in the pattern of a pentagram. Holmes catches him before he can kill th sixth. but killing six girls would have broken his carefully planned pattern, so Blackwood was obviously very sure that Holmes would catch him and set his scheme in motion.
Thank you, tropes. If only you didn't kill my sleep on a regular basis, I'd be much happier.
