Kids, peer pressure is awful. Never give in to peer pressure. Today I gave in to peer pressure and, instead of going straight home after classes, I was dragged to a talk about mean field games. All because I couldn't say no and was bribed with pizza.
...Okay, well, it was interesting because it's the first time I heard a maths seminar in English and I'm happy to say I understood just as much as I would have if it was in Italian. Which means I understood nothing at all, because lol I don't know about PDEs and who is Nash and what's this equilibrium everyone talks about. :D I kind of gave up after the first half and stopped taking notes altogether, and why do mathematicians from all around the world insist on using handwritten slides and a projector from before the war, idgi.

Oh well. EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH ONCE UPON A TIME because I say so and because it's about fairytales and because the sheriff is hot and the protagonist kicks ass. It's kind of cheesy, especially the parts set in the land of the stories, but I got my sister to watch it so we make fun of the conspicuous CGI together. And I am convinced that the Evil Queen and Snow White had a torrid love story, let's see what the next episode has to say about that. Also, hot sheriff. Kick ass protagonist. She had a chainsaw in the last episode and I cheered.

Also, Castle keeps having meh plots this season but who cares, everyone is so cute and I love them sfm. Please get together before you die of old age.

Oh, I gave a seminar presentation on Nash equilibrium stuff a few years ago.

I think Once Upon A Time sounds interesting, but I can't watch Jennifer Morrison for that long at a time. Her character on House bothered me enough for a lifetime. xD

IRIS YOU NEED TO STOP HATING THE CHARACTERS THAT I LIKE.

Oh wait. She's a woman. W/e, you need to stop hating on women characters altogether.

I LIKE SOME FEMALE CHARACTERS. Like one or two. Cameron bothers me on multiple levels though. XD

Tell me more of these levels you speak of.

She's self-righteous, shoving her views and her way down people's throats whether they ask for it or not, refusing to accept people's choices regarding their own lives if they don't match up with her views.

She's pretending (or actually trying, idk) to only want to help people, and uses it as justification for everything she does, whether it ends up helding people or hurting them.

And on the flipside, as soon as someone treats her that way, she blows it out of proportion and feels attacked.

I think I could sum it up as she has higher standards for other people than she does for herself?

That, and the whole drama about wanting to be with House. Or not. Which is not a personality thing, but still bothers me about the character.

LOL, that actually makes a lot of sense. I'd have to sign that. IDK I WATCHED HOUSE A LONG TIME AGO, MY VIEWS THEN ARE PROBABLY A LOT DIFFERENT THAN THEY ARE NOW.

But all in all, yes, totally see what you mean. :)

I know. It was the main reason why I learned LaTeX. Equations in equations in equations, bit of a nightmare. XD

Yeah, she was (/is ?) Cameron on House. Maybe when I've caught up with all the bazillion seasons of Criminal Minds and all the other shows I want to watch, lol.

I'm currently reaquainting myself with it for thesis writing purposes. Boo. XD

Oh I'm sure a lot of people like her, just not me. I'm picky. What what, who are your favourites? I only hate Elle, and make frowny faces at Garcia. I was nice about the rest.

CASTLE ♥ EVERYTHING IS MARTHA AND NOTHING HURTS. Except ofc hello can the writers maybe please get the stick out of their behinds and FINALLY GET A MOVE ON. There's only so much UST before it turns into a bad sitcom.

I've been trying to get a hold of Once Upon A Time but IDK WHY BUT ALL MY SOURCES SUCK. Maybe because they blacklist the search words. Hmf.

Hmmm, other people have been saying Once Upon A Time is good, so I may give it a go when I have some free time. The fact that you said the sheriff is hot has nothing to do with it at all.

I haven't been keeping up with Castle in a while, but if there's any particularly good episodes for this season, I might check them out too.

I've been watching Once Upon a Time, and I generally like the idea of it (and Jennifer Morrison's acting is better than I predicted, though I kind of hate whoever's in charge of the costuming/set department for the fairytale flashbacks - they just don't feel imaginative enough for me, and they don't seem to complement the real-world scenes very well which kind of throws me out of the show every time they switch back and forth).

Honestly, though, I've got to stop watching it with my family - they keep talking through parts and asking questions when I'm trying to listen lol. It seriously took me until the second episode to even realise that the teacher was Snow White because I was so distracted.

On that note - do we know who the very hot sherrif is in the fairytale? Or has that not been mentioned yet?

I wondered if he was the wolf as well - he seems like the guy I would cast in that role. Maybe that's why they're holding back on who it is? It's supposed to be a twist that he's in a "good" role? I could see him as the woodcutter as well, though. Glad I didn't miss anything, then. :)

That was something I liked about the second episode, they did start laying out some questions to be answered (like the last scene with Rumplestiltskin and the queen - I really liked that we didn't know if he'd set it all up or not. It's nice when characters fall into gray areas).
