It's a good night

My evening has been a constant alternation between "oh shit, it's already midnight/1am/2am" and "but I'm writing so much today, let me at least finish this bit". Over 2,000 words later, I'm in the middle of a duel and I cannot stop. (I predict the next step will be: realize it's 3am.)

The last time I tried to write that late, it ended up a bit of a disaster and required A LOT of editing.

But I was following an outline so at least I know I can't have wandered off too much.

Outlines are good. I normally just write as it comes into my head. but for BB I'm actually planning it out properly so that I can keep it sane.

I found out the hard way that if I try to write anything with more than a scene without an outline I end up with a dreadful mess.

too many ideas in my head all at once and things go crazy. plus I think pretty fast so I get way ahead of myself.

I am! I think everyone everywhere almost is doing BB this year. Which is cool! At least everyone is in it together.

Great jealousy at the thought, but my own writing effort in that period will be my thesis so maybe the next year. XD

I might sign up as a cheerleader though, if I haven't missed the deadline already, just because everyone is in it.
